Instead, they are the ones that control distribution, build communities, and capture attention. As a result, strong distribution often becomes more valuable than technology alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If attention drives growth, shapes narratives, and determines what people see, learn, and believe&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Has attention become the most valuable asset on the internet?<br>To understand where the internet is heading next, we first need to understand the rise of the attention economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>The Internet Runs on Attention<\/em><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-vertical is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-4fc3f8e1 wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every platform that exists today is built around one core mechanic: capturing and holding human attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not just social media. Not just news. Everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time<strong>,<\/strong> algorithms don\u2019t simply prioritize what is true, useful, or important in a traditional sense. Instead, they optimize for what keeps people scrolling, watching, clicking, and returning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That means attention isn\u2019t just part of the system anymore \u2014 it is the system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The more attention something gets, the more distribution it receives. The more distribution it receives, the more valuable it becomes.
